Just some photos I took last year. Picked a variety of ones I liked.
I have not edited any of these, because I always feel crap in = crap out.

Figure in this portion of the forum I can get a bit of critiquing on what I have done so I can improve.
Do you think this phone sucks, do you think I suck, whatever you guys think please let me know.
Thanks

2014 November Blizzard, The lake effect snow band moving into buffalo and suburbs. Dumping ~6' of snow.

Nice shot of the river and the rapids. Does the phone suck? I dunno...it badly underexposed the snow scenes, making the snow look muddy. Smartphone cameras these days are usually decent to excellent, but a LOT of how good the pictures turn out depends on how the user uses the phone...for example, can you tap the screen and re-set the exposure?

I dunno...I am not super-impressed by these images, even as phone caps, but then, I do not know if the issue is you, or the phone, or a bit of both. I would say these do not look up to iPhone 5 or 6 quality, nor do they look as good as the newer Samsung images...but you are right with your "crap in=crap out" comment. If a person uses a smart phone like it were a real camera, the results can be pretty good, as long as the picture goes well with the semi-wide-angle view and the dynamic range of the scene can be squished into an 8-bit JPEG image with the right contrast and exposure settings, AND some halfway interesting lighting.

Moto X basic camera app has no adjustments :/ It has HDR and Flash as the two things you can change.
I downloaded the google camera app yesterday, it has some exposure adjustment.
But I knew when purchasing the moto x over a year ago that the camera was not really good when compared to iphones or galaxy cams.

How about how I framed/composed the photos? (If that is the correct way to ask)
I guess, could you (and anyone else) tell me where I went right and wrong with taking these photos?

Auto Contrast, such as what my phone will do in editing.
