Photos seen?

Um, there's a website, something like stockphoto.com i believe, it allows people to buy your pictures both for photoshop editing purposes, and for pictures they like and want in nice quality, the advantage to this site is also that it gets your name "known."

Second, you could try joining many photo competitions (with good pictures OC), obviously, if you win, that's also a decent amount of exposure.

Um, i guess this one is a little in the long run, since i doubt youre over 21 and out of college due to your profile picture, but you can open up a studio.

I feel like you should just work on getting pictures to look and be proffesional before venturing out to get money from them, no offense, i know you're starting, but i haven't seen anything out of your photos that looks proffesional and ready to sell, photography, at least for most, is not to get money but as a hobby, i would have fun with it, and if YOU become good, then it'll be alot easier to get your photos exposed.

Btw, you seem to get a lot of hate on this forum it seems :p.

If you are trying to run a business and get some money from photoshoots and bookings, you need to start with having a website to showcase your images. Alot of people think flickr is appropriate, but flickr ends up (for many) being a dump of images. Best to look into your own personal website, either totally custom or using set templates such as at zenfolio.com.

Once thats done, get some business cards made, and its all about pounding the pavement to get clients.

If you have images you want to try and sell as art, again, you need to pound the pavement to find potential buyers. Took a nice shot of something? See which companies might be interested in buying the photo.

If you have product and other themed shots, as suggested, look into stock photography sites (istockphoto, shutterstock,...) and get them up there. Note that a single image download will get your a buck or two, if even that. Stock sites are about quantity of selling (and quality of work) if you want to make any true money.

An article was floating around a week ago here about a guy whose images was bought off of istockphoto by Time Magazine and made its cover. The guy netted about $30 from the image sale (if even that) but if he would of been commissioned and worked / sold for Time, it would of been in the thousands.

These sites often have very strict guidelines to get an image up.

haha yeah thats for sure I do but oh well and yeah I am getting better these days I am taking bout 400-100 photos a week

i think you should show some people here your "best" pictures and get feedback on them and if you get great feedback, then worry about selling them.

You can see posts a user had made in their profile. Look for threads started by someone and that usually leads to the images they post

And in looking at back posts, I found that the same question has been asked in the past.

What do you hope to achieve more with a new thread on the same subject?

From what I gather, you don't want to do stock photography, you don't want to open a business doing portraits.
You want to take pictures of what you like and sell them as art to people for them to hang on their walls, correct?

So your just selling locally - well your best bet would be to print off and mount in a frame - some examples of your best work and then try setting up a stall at a local fair, sale event - making sure to have both stock in hand at the event and also business cards with your email on them - so that buyers can walk away with contact details.
You could also consider printing off postcards and selling them in local shops - talking with the managers concerning what the cards would look like, pricing and the rest.

Of course all this printing might or might not be possible for you so look into printing labs (either local or through the internet) which would be able to print quality products for you.

So what else do you want?

It's difficult to give advise to someone if you can't judge the direction they are heading... Let's see your work. First you need to establish what your target market is. Can't do this if we don't know what your subject matter is.

i was going to suggest local fairs or art/wine festival type of things.

yes, i noticed this previously, and have looked at the past 5 pages of posts he has done, i linked his other thread in my original post last afternoon to show this to him. My main problem is i feel that this user is only taking pictures to make money, which is why he's over processing his pictures IMO, im interested in his new and improved pictures, id love to see them, so at least OP give us a teaser?

Not to be mean or anything, but I dislike you.

No offense, and just take it with a grain of salt of course. This is just the Internet.

I read this thread, and your other threads and you seem to be very persistent with a one track mind, and not open to advice and any other input then a direct line to sell what you want to shoot, whenever you decide to shoot it.

I'm curious as well to see the portfolio pics, but some of the ones I linked up above are from the last week or so, so I consider those fairly new.

ahh, actually i did not look at the date on those, if so, then yes, OP needs to worry about quality first, then money next.

btw side note (MY FLASH IS COMING IN THE MAIL TOMORROW!!!) :)
