photoshop excellence???

I've been trying and trying to get this "sleek"
"plastic" look forever (like the one in this
photo attached)...and I can't seem to find
a good method on getting what I want! >(

my best friends in photoshop have been the
channel mixer and shadow/highlight, but I've
tried various layer stuff and submask stuff to
smooth out faces and get the "glistening" look
but just cant seem to get it. I suppose having
good flashwork and makeup would only help me
get there.

if you are trying to get the smotth skin?

Try gaussian blur, surface blur, or one other, slipped my mind.

Mask out the face, make it a layer... filter > blur gaussian blur the selection.. or else it will blur over the edges.

Also, he could have used software like noiseninja or something. It kind of has that artificial glow to it from ninja

Why not mesage the photogrpher and ask him/her. They might be willing to share some tricks or tips. Besides who knows this could possibly be an action you can purchase.
