I was wondering if i could instead of buying filters, shoot regular and then scan and PS them with the needed effect such as polfilter or UV.

Can PS do these things? I heard people say yes and no..whats the deal on this?

Photosohp cannot replicate the effect of a polarizer or a UV filter, not that a UV filter does very much. Those are two that you'd better buy.

If your shots are intended for B&W, you can use photoshop to simulate the use of colored filters, by using the channel mixer.

I use PS and have a list of filters called " Digital Filmtools 55mm" There are about 50 to 60 filters that replicate various filters. Check out the website

There are a list of filter with before and after pictures on all of them.
