What is this called?

How do you do it?

Its called HDR (High Dynamic Range)... do a few searches and you will find a ton of info!

Yes, this is an HDR-image, and not even very well done ... with all the dirt on the sensor showing ever so clearly.

Use our forum's SEARCH function, put in "HDR", and here alone you will find a lot of info on how it is being done ... plus many example photos.

There are other ways of doing this. I just saw an article in one of the photo magazines that involved messing with exposure and saving as different images then layering them and erasing unwanted shadows and highlights. Basically everything an HDR does but you having to manually do it instead of having them merged for you and you just tweaking it.
