    Not a big fan of the subject or the centeredness of the images but 3 isn't to bad. For just being bored and messing around not to bad.

    very nice set of pictures. I really like the focus and composition in all of them. The contrast and saturation seem like they could use a little bit of work in pictures 3 and 4, meaning 3 needs a little less, and 4 needs a little more, but otherwise they are fine. My favorite thing about this series of shots is the idea of looking at a pretty boring object, a chess board, and making it interesting ..showing that there is more to it.

    Interesting...I'm not qualified to critique so I'll just say :thumbup: for boredom shots!

    any photo exercise can help you to learn more. i think it's good to do that whenever one is bored.

    All nice shots. Liked #5 the most, where #6 you had the best use of focal depth. You should consider offering them to a chess mag for free or a minimal fee. And one shot you might have taken was the ever popular king laying down on the board in surrender.
