Can others edit my Photos

Hi all, one of my good friends recently deleted some pictures off of her memory card. They are kind of important to our yearbook. Any advice?

Thanks.

I'm not positive, but if they were deleted, I'm not sure there is much that can be done. I know if the card gets corrupted, you can possible get some stuff off the card, but as far as being deleted, they may be gone.

Mount the memory card with a card reader on a computer and see if there is any recycle bin or deleted folders.

I would do a bit of web research too before giving up.

There are some free programs out there that do file recovery. The free ones are hard to find, and I'd give you the name of the one I use, but I'm at someone else's computer. I can let you know what it's called when I get back.

DON'T TAKE ANY MORE PICTURES ON THAT CARD!

When you take pictures and you delete them, there are always leftover pieces on the card. Those are recoverable. They stay there until you format the card or fill up that memory again (by taking more pictures). Once you've started taking too many pictures, you might be out of luck.

Look around on the internet for some decent free programs. Just Google "File Recovery Freeware" or something like that, and make sure the site looks trustworthy before you download. Hope that helps.

What he said, plus here's one. The last time I erased a bunch of files by accident, I found something, maybe this is it, did a couple of clicks and they were back.

Depending on what card is in the camera some manufacturers have recovery programs at their sites. Sandisk does and Lexar may.

alright

when i plugged my card into my card reader yesterday it wouldnt open said i had to "format before using" and i put in back in my camera and it said the same thing. i had some important pictures on there. what should i do?
