I took these photos in downtown Colorado Springs on Saturday. The light around 11am was very harsh but some images still came out kind of nice ..

i'm not a fan of this processing on people . . . except for the first two, which totally rock, and i greatly enjoyed seeing.

    what a parade.!

Only one comment BUT ... I entered #2 and #3 (converted to B&W) into our El Paso County Fair Fine Arts Contest and got first place in the People Color and People B&W categories as well as Champion and Reserve Champion for all the Advanced Adult Photography categories.

    Great photos, as always.

Some of them look a little over-cooked (for my liking). It usually works well on your landscape shots buy it looks a little weird for people shots.

The only one that I feel is overdone a bit is the fifth, all the others work fine with me, and I love the juxtaposition of the girl's expression in the last with the wording on her "float" - heehee. "Cheers! :grumpy:"

    Very nice.
I find photographing parades is not THAT easy, the last I tried my hands on went by fairly fast! So although I set my camera on AVmode for the first time ever (stepping back from all manual to be quicker), I had hardly time to focus and they were out of focus or gone ... so: well done.

    And congrats to the prizes!!!
    You deserve them well!
