Now this is apropos of nothing and I will not be surprised if noone reponds to it BUT. I was searching Ebay for anpther post and came across some things that really made my jaw drop, for one http://cgi.ebay.com/Nikon-N90S-35mm...yZ107925QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It is not long ago that this was $799 new and http://cgi.ebay.com/Nikon-F4s-Autof...yZ107925QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I is not so long ago that this was the top of Nikon's line and last but not least http://cgi.ebay.com/NIKON-F5-F-5-35...ryZ15240QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem An F5 for $599 buy it now this is well I don't know how to describe it insane, pitiful, sad. I have been in photography long enough I guess I am old but how can these things drop so fast. I remember when I was in college drooling over other guys F4's and wishing I could afford one at $2000+. O.k. done rambling and as I said feel free to ignore this as the ramblings of a guy who feels old way too soon.

I am afraid to I started weddings with Bronica and that is sad enough I considered trying to sell mine but I just can't do it for that money. I just can't help to wonder though if all this old medium format gear floating around cheaply is someday going to start rapidly increasing in value when digital backs for them are more affordable and practical.

The serial # of my F4 is 2140xxx, which means.....I think that I could get what I paid for it, but it was a steal at the time. Oddly enough, I have been stalking for a F5, but I am waiting for one in Ex++ for $400.00 + or -. I don't think that that is out of the question, just timing. I have noticed that F3 prices are going up.

Well maybe a bad analogy, but generally fords go way down in value right after you buy one new... Sorry bad joke... :)

Title any car, drive it around the block and see what the same dealer will give you for it. But that's way off topic.

All film gear is dropping like rocks in a pond. DSLR's arn't much better once a new model is introduced. I just bought a blad system, 3 bodies, 4 lenses, 4 viewfinders, flashes with packs and stroboframe all in a road case for 2K. And yes, I'm trolling for a D-back. Right now it's a buyers paradise. Can't be beat. Just don't expect to sell anything and make a profit.
