    I've avoided macro photography for so long thinking I needed an expensive 1.4 macro lens or something to make it worthwhile.

    Well, lo and behold I discovered the beauty of macro filters, more specifically a set of 3 offered by Hoya for less than $50, and now I'm a happy macro camper :mrgreen:
