Playing with DOF. C&C please

    So just got a camera recently and thought id head to the local market for a few shots. They're all pretty similar looking shots but was just trying to understand DOF.

    Looks like your playing resulted in some great shots.
    I like #3, I think it works well.

    3rd is my fav too i think with that one i was able to get most things correct.

    Now you know what not to do. :lol:

    Exercises like this will help you understand the focal plane, and the depth of in focus area you can obtain by adjusting your aperture. Really shallow DOF has it's places, when used correctly it can really make an image shine. When used incorrectly it can make the viewer feel like they need contacts.

    Yeah focal plane and DOF still confuses me but I'm reading up on some notes to help me understand more.
