How do you use a polarizer on a lens that twists to focus? Like the kit Canon 18-55. The front twists around whenever you're focusing, and will mess with the polarizer.

Lock focus then turn the polarizer to suit the situation.

I guess this will work considering most polarizing work is static, landscape types.

It still makes me wonder why they would do that... :-(

So they can sell more expensive lenses that don't rotate when you focus them

Actually, I doubt that is the reason. It's more likely that they design lenses that turn because they are cheaper & lighter. And to be competitive with an entry level SLR, you need to include a lens that is cheap and light.
