Ya, we had every intention of doing up a portal, but it would seem that we're pretty lazy and forgetful so I guess it didn’t' really happen. Thanks for bringing this up ph_bradley. Maybe we try and get something going in the not so distant future.

I find a portal is a good way to introduce potential new members to the site, to get an idea of what to expect should they decide to look through the site as well, as opposed to just the forum. There are quite a few decent mods/hacks you can do to a phpbb forum like this one. I used ez-portal (though I modified it quite a bit for www.photographycorner.com ) - you can get ex-portal from www.phpbbhacks.com - it's a pretty easy install.
