I am building my portfolio -- slowly running through all my photo at the moment. It's more than 10,000 files now. I just wanna get some ideas from you who already have one:

- How do you cetegorise and sequence them
- What formats do you use
- How many is too many in it

I was always told around 12 pieces and no more than 20.

Also, I organise it with the second best piece first. Then, everything else. And finsh with your strongest piece. Start with a "Wow!" Finish with a "Bang!"

As for what images to select, that depends on what you're going for. If its design and product shots you want variety (to show flexibility) and for art its style.

At least, that's how I always did it.

hmm I have two portfolios: one is virtual, second - collection of prints.
As far as virtual goes you can find the demo version here:
www.lnet.szn.pl/mentos/portfolio
but I'm still working on it... rebuilding the script and so on... I'm also thinkig about giving some details about me on the site. I dunno if that's any help but I hope it may at least give you some idea :)
Btw. I have the same categories on PC - using ACDsee
