Portfolio making

i wanted to make a portfolio to drop off at some businesses to try to get a job, how should i go about doing this? i am going to let them keep it more or less, so what kind of materials should i use?

thanks. i got a scrapbook and im going to try to use that as my portifolo Its only been about six months since i started doing photography but people say i am relativly decent. granted i think my work isnt any good but then again i am not the best judge of my own work. But i just wanna try to get into helping a photographer even if it is just getting his coffee

Right now I am using a binder with sheet protectors that fit right into the 3 ring binders. Its not the prettest looking but it does protect my photos. I also prefer to print my photos in 8.5 x11 so they fit perfectly in the sheet protectors.

Would you reccomend having a book or having a nice box with prints laid in it? Possibly matted

im going with more of a book with matted pictures, i want it to look semi professional but i also got bright red so they would not forget about it.
