In January, I will be meeting with the editor-in-chief of my local newspaper. I've been given such a rare opportunity though a family friend. They're looking for more staff photographers, for 2010, and I was given this chance. My question is this. How do you prepare a portfolio properly?

Other than having photographs to show your BEST work, how do you prepare the portfolio?

Are there any books to providing information or any good online sites?

This will be a photojournalism type portfolio so artistic photographs are typically ignored/unimportant, correct?

    Pap or event?

Either way, Prints in newspaper arent very large so they will likely just ask questions e.g Can you take a photo? Can you recognise the person in the photo? great your in!

Paps tend to shoot n pray

Also might wanna get rid of that nikon, there is a reason all paps use Canon, The insurance policy will not cover Nikon, They said it is too much of a Liability issue for them :p (jokes ofcourse)
