I shoot for a college newspaper and have recently been assigned to do a feature/portrait photo on one of our women's basketball players. My editor has recently requested that we try and get our feature photos out of the standard sports shots and into something different. Of course, "different" remains undefined...Anyways, long story short, it turns out that my subject is a marketing major and my editor would like me to incorporate that into the photo. I've been banging my head over this for the past few days, anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks!

take her to sporting goods store(get permission from the manager first) use a background of multiple basketball sneakers(marketing)and shoot a closeup of her twirling a basketball. HAVE FUN!

Actually, yes, I do have access to a small studio with a fairly large assortment of lighting options. Anything specific?
