my first experiment on portraits using my Pentacon Six
My dad 8)
these are great!!!!! i like your dads expression!!!
They look pretty good but I'm not sure I like the shadows on the wall behind.
It's looks almost like a messed up double exposure ghost image. Especially with the light pointed up and the shadows up higher on the wall.
first thanks ya'll 8:
ohh I forgot to say, DON'T NOTICE THE SHADOWS
I know they ain't right, it was just a try (usually I use high-key to shoot portraits).
Wow...nice...how did you get it to look so...professional!?
It's a great start - well done Santino.
Are they related?
...ehem...its santino, and his dad
Hey santino, your dad looks like hes a real character. Keep em coming.
Your Dad looks like he's thinking "Just taked the damned shot already" Am I close?
Good stuff. It looks like your father is thinking "This is what I get for getting him a camera"
Santino, see if you can submit your dad's pic to this months contest! Great shots!
They are very good shots. The shadows have been mentioned, but I actually like and use shadows a great deal. If done correctly the can be a great asset to a photo. Have a look at some of Alfred Steiglitz's photos and use of shadows in portraits.
To my eye what seems to be missing in both is a more expanded grey scale. You have great white's and blacks but the middle ground to get from one to the other seems to be lacking. IMO.
