howdy.....I'm looking to get a power grip for my D70....does anyone have advise on a good brand (Nikon dosen't seem to make one)?. Also I've seen a few that have an extra cable that you have to use for the vertical shutter release button to work......do all the different brands need this cable?

    Thanks!

I have yet to see one that really does the job the way we'd all like it to work. There are two or three that are all fairly similar and work the way you mentioned. If someone knows of something better, I'd love to see it.

they're really not worth the money.

i can't remember the names but one of them requires modification of the camera which voids the warranty and the other doesn't require modification but isn't a great fit and has limited functionality.

As much as i'd love a vertical grip for my D70s I don't want to waste money and ruin my camera. I'm saving for the D200 now as it's a better camera overall and has a grip!!! :D
