So, I took advantage of a power outage tonight to snap a few shots of the very brilliant stars. I used my 50mm 1.8, and it worked a lot better than I expected, but I manual focused to infinity and it's not really all that crisp. Anyway, this is the one that turned out best, thought I'd share my first attempt at astral photography :)

lower your ISO. Cool picture. I took some shots of the sky when I was visiting family in the middle of the dessert in AZ. the sky caught me by surprise, I didnt realize there were that many stars.

heh, whoops.. I thought the ISO was at 100, didn't even check it, was just excited about trying the shot. It was set at 400. The power is back on now (obviously), I'll try it again next power outage.. they're rather common in this town.
