EDIT: messed up the thread title. I'd appreciate it if a moderator could fix it for me.

But anyway, which one is the better crop? Comments and critiques are, as always, welcome... I'm sure the lighting and 'photoshopping' are downright horrible, but I'm trying to learn here. Please be candid. Self-censorship is by no means necessary...

    Hey there,

I like the third one best. The first seems a little boring with just a tree right in the middle. The second is chopping a tree right in half. The third one is nice :)

    Yes, the third it is.
Though I wonder what it was like originally, i.e. not in this non-print ratio? Though ... actually ... it's all the same to me. The third is definitely best of the series as it is.

What did you do to them photoshopwise? Care to tell us?

Oh, and you didn't say HOW you wanted your title changed, so I just took away what was said in brackets. I hope this is what you want.

^ It's fine, thank you. Thanks for the feedback Lyncca and LaFoto. It's very much appreciated.

    Here it is anyway:

And you thought the cropped ones were bad. As I'm sure you can tell, I find it incredibly hard to take a simple picture. It's frustrating.

My bad. I used the burn tool on the midtones -- and used it quite extensively I might add -- and added a little Curves magic as well. That's it. I don't know a whole lot about Photoshop, but the no doubt makeshift results were better than I expected them to be.

Your chosen crop (Photo 3) is definitely nicer than the original photo (usual print ratio), and I think I quite like your pp work done to these. The sunset looks much more intense.

Perfectly said. I love how you cropped and PPed the third one.
