    They are too soft in my opinion but the last one is the best out of the lot.

    Yeah, I like the last one too, the first one was just a random snapshot, I didn't plan for it or anything, it just happened to come out good.

    white balance seems strange ...

    the last one has the most character

    had a quick go at it:

    not perfect, but for 15 seconds it is ok I guess ;)

    - adjusted the levels/colours a bit
    - strong sharpen
    - noise reduction (in particular colour noise)
    - weak sharpen
