Priest’s bedroom - Mission San Carlos Borromeo 1770

This photo nicely plays with the lights and the shadows, in combination with the squares of the bed and the window. I really like it. Makes me think of the chiaroscuro technique of the Old Masters of Painting. Personally, I'd probably have cropped off the edge of the chest of drawers or whatever it is on the very left, but other than that... this photo quite nicely shows the simplicity of the room. (I would just hope for that priest or monk that he got SOME sort of mattress at his times... ;))

youve captured a feeling of solitude and humble living here. well done

got to admit, never been in a priest bedroom...(make up your own joke, there..)

love the black and white....and as others have said, you captured the humbleness well... just a great shot...and yes, lafoto is right, its almost like a masters painting..

Thank-you Jon and I am truly honored by your comment as I am in awe of your work.

Thank-you everyone for your most kind words.

Very nice. It's a little dark on my monitor on the right.

A very simple capture of a simple, spartan room. I like it. :)

vey mystical... when I look at it I can almost feel the atmosphere inside.... magical... spiritual...

I agree! beautiful shot!

Very well done indeed. I like the light from the window, casting its shadows.
