Putting together a slideshow

Ok, so I'm getting married in a couple of weeks, and I've got to make a slideshow of pictures for our rehearsal dinner. Basically, I've got about 200 pictures, most of which I'll have to scan to my computer, and then I've got to somehow put them in a "show" with music. Any recommendations on any software or products designed for something like this? I can always use Powerpoint, but to me that just seems a little boring. Any advice would be great!

Any significant differences in ProShow Standard and Gold? I'd like to have basic effects abilities, like panning, zooming, etc., but don't want to spend the extra money if their isn't a huge difference in the 2.

Check out this article by EBphotography. I don't think it tells you the difference between ProShow Standard and Gold, but it has a lot of useful info for putting together slide shows.
