Quantaray 2X Teleconverter

I grabbed one for ten bucks at a pawn shop for my 105mm 2.8 micro. My question is, my camera can af with it, is it safe? Granted it focuses really slowly, but other than that, is that safe for the motor and camera?

If the mirror doesn't hit the back, and the lens elements don't touch when you mount the lens it's generally safe.

I've never heard of a focusing motor getting burnt out in a camera.

do you know weather I can use a teleconverter for a 120mm telescope,
trying to shoot close ups of moon but my images of the moon are only 9mm....!
