Does Sigma make a 70-200mm in a smaller max aperature than 2.8? Just wondering because someone has a lens for sell, but they don't know the max aperature or anything other than it's a Sigma 70-200.

I already looked at Sigma's website and didn't see anything, but I didn't know if they made one at some point and discontinued it or something.

    Thanks!

No they don't == the fast one is f/2.8 and there are MkI and MkII versions. If they used to make a faster one, it isn't in the current mounts. BTW, if you get a good copy that's a great lens. Sigma has had some QC issues, however.

^ I think he was meaning if they make a slower 70-200, ie an f/4.

I've never seen one, but I can't say for sure.

I don't think they make one now, or in the last 10-20 years, but they made one at some point.

The lens turned out to be a pretty old, but in pretty good shape Sigma 70-200mm 1:4-5.6. It didn't even fit my camera, it was meant for the older style Canon's, before the EF mount.
