Not sure how many of you are still following development, but it seems some exciting things are happening over at the Radio Popper site. The "big reveal" is coming Friday the 12th at 3:00 PM with shipping in January.

Until then, you can get some more info here.

I have almost pulled the trigger on some cactus triggers a couple times now but have been holding off to see what the Radio Popper Jr. brings to the market. I guess I will finally be able to make a decision one way or another in about a week.

Yup, I've been waiting for them to come out with these. I have a friend that has the first generation ones and he loves them.

There was a huge bru-haha in the strobist forum about cancellation of products, vs delays and promises made and not delivered.

I'm more than satisfied with the Cactus for now, but if I do move up, it will be with the Radiopopper products and the wireless long distance iTTL solution.

good to see they havnt gone off the planet :). I was waiting for some of those but ended up buying ht cyber-syncs instead and couldn't be happier. At least i dont think? I guess I will see in the coming weeks

According to the Radio Popper Blog, they 'canceled' the new units because they wanted to upgrade them, and these new upgraded ones are what is supposed to be coming out.

I will say that they have an odd marketing plan (if it's a plan at all). There is a lot of buzz about their products before they come out, which is great but the delay has been so long that it turns people off. On top of that, people in countries besides the USA have had to wait even longer...which turned off even more people. I know a few people who were waiting for these things and finally said 'screw it' and just got pocket wizards.

I've heard some good things about the new PX versions, directly from a photographer who has done some testing on them and has written an article about them.

I asked him about the Jr but haven't heard yet.

A bump for anyone interested. They seem to be updating once an hour. So far no real meat, just some gadget porn. Looking good so far, they definitely listened to the requests of the user base it seems.

The JR basic set... Claims 1500' range. $99 for a Tx/Rx set. If these live up to the hype... Oh man.
