Hi all, just waiting for my new lightmeter to come and get a new tripod and I'm up for some low light shots. I've read about reciprocity failure and wonder if anyone here uses Reala for long exposures? At what point do you have to allow for failure and adjust exposure? I can't find any info on the 'net so I wondered if anyone here had any experiences to relate.

Cheers, Lol

If you go to the Fuji site you can download the spec sheet.
Reciprocity:
1/4000 to 1 sec = No exposure or colour balance compensation is necessary.
4 seconds = increase exposure 1/3 stop.
16 seconds = increase exposure 1 stop.
64 seconds = not recommended.

If you plot the above on some squared paper and do a 'best fit' curve then you'll get a more accurate idea of exposure compensation.

It's quite easy. Slowish film, stop the aperture right down, adjust for reciprocity - and you'll soon hit the minutes.

Reala is my preferred film for long exposures. I've managed an in-camera metered exposure of over ten minutes with no problems at all. I find that the sensitivity drop-off works well as it stops the sky becoming grainy, but still allows the highlights e.g. car lights to pop.
