really bad at this

so i tried changing my foto....

well i wanted to take the background out and make it grey..
but i was only able to do it with a circle thingy..
i actually wanted to trace the part i wanted to colour grey
and then change the colour..
well i did it in a different way...a weird way..it worked but i was not able to do it as accurate as i wanted to....

lol not a bad first attempt Maybe instead of filling with pure grey, get a photo from the web somewhere with some texture to it, and fill that in those areas. Also, it looks like the quick mask tool could really be of some use to you. tutorial: http://www.grafx-design.com/12photo.html
