Hi everyone,
I'm new here. I'm getting two family members photography books for christmas. The first one is going to be Michael Kenna, but I'm stuck on the second one. It's been a while since a photography class, so I'll try describing what I'm looking for.

Not landscapes. Similar to, perhaps, work by Robert Doisneau. Portraits, people, interaction. The lines on an old man's face, black&white...tells a story. Social settings...that type of thing. People.

Ideally, has a book on amazon.

Any recommendations are MUCH appreciated. I chose this place to ask because it looked like I'd get a lot of people who KNEW what they were talking about.

Thank you so much!!

If someone were to buy me a photo book, I'd want Nachtwey's Inferno. However, if you want something that is literally similar to Doisneau, at least in subject matter, take a look at Cartier-Bresson.
