At this point, you have to get to Cusco (which is higher than Machu Picchu so altitude sickness is a factor). You can then take a train to Agua Calientes. You then take a bus up to the site. And you then do a lot of vertical stairs. Expect lots of standing in line (even just to catch the bus from Agua Calientes). To get to Cusco, you probably need to go to Lima first. For acclimation purposes we actually went to the Sacred Valley (left Cusco quickly) and then took a train ride (which is shorter) to Agua Calientes. And from there we went back to Cusco (longer train ride).On my bucket list!!!
