Hey, i want to get into some more advanced photo editing, so i'd like a good book tutorial ( i like to have something solid to look at ) that explains in detail editing techniques and such.

    any ideas?

    Thank you in advance,

Scott Kelby has some good photoshop books out. Easy to understand tutorials and a nice mix of stuff he covers, from portrait retouching to fun stuff.

Kelby's books are fun but essentially just a collection of tutorials that leave out a lot of other details.

The book by Martin Evening that musicaleCA refered you to is quite good. As a suppliment to it I would also recommend:

Photoshop CS4 Workflow by Tim Grey.
