I want it to be a good quality one, carbon fiber would be nice...

I have a budget of $300, and it's gotta be something carried by B&H cause that's where my gift card is from;)

Currently my heaviest setup is the gripped D300 and 70-300VR, and I want to add a 200/2 or 300/2.8 next summer.

Recommendations? Thanks:thumbup:

I like the Manfrotto and Gitzo models. I have the Manfrotto pnuematic monopod, forget the model though' but it supports 17.5lbs. The head choice is important also. Check out the Really Right Stuff monopod head. It's really good for larger lenses. That should cover the $300.

Thanks, I ended up getting a manfrotto 680B monopod and a 460MGRC2 head for now.

The RRS stuff is really nice I know, but I had to order from B&H. I will probably pick up one of their ballheads when I get a really nice tripod to replace my semi-cheap Vanguard next year.

Pistol head + carbon fiber is good, but hard to find over here.
