Went down to Bushy Park again this evening to see if there was any rut action. As usual it was all mouth and no trousers from the stags!

This was also my first real time out with the 600 since I got it boy do I love it! This stag had wondered past me and off towards the setting sun but when he started calling out I decided even though it would mean shooting almost in the sun direction, I'd try and get some of the lovely rim light this was producing on him.

    D3, 600 + 1.4x TC, 850mm, 1/1000, f6.3, ISO 1400.

    ohhhh that is fantastic.
I'd love to see a horizontal of it, I think the composition of his antlers would look fantastic that way.
PS. There is a small city called Red Deer not far from me!
