How can I make this photo b&w and keep the tail lights red? I know this is not a great photo - it was part of a music video we participated in and that's my hubby's bike and not his butt!

    search for 'selective color'.

The short version is that you use a photo editing program that allows 'layers'. You create a duplicate layer and convert the top one to B&W. Then you erase the parts of the top layer that you want to appear in color.

It is just a matter of making a tight selection, rotating it (drag a guide out of the ruler [ctrl-R]), and then a bit of cloning to hide the original.

Toggle the top layer in this PhotoShop file to see the edit. It is CS3 but should be backward compatible with earlier versions.
