As a kid and teenager, I was big into photography. I thought I hit the big time when I got a Pentax K1000 for my birthday. But somewhere along the way, I got distracted by other things: writing, business, computers, music. I sold my camera and moved on to other things. Almost 20 years later, I have a renewed interest in photography. I finally bought a decent camera: a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS, which I'm discovering has some limitations, but still serves as a great tool for what I want to do. My photography is primarily abstract, textures, objects and digital art. I have no desire to be a professional photographer in the sense of portraits or photojournalism, but I would love to one day be considered an "artist" and make money selling my art. I am looking into getting published in art and literary magazines. I would love to hear from anyone, but especially those with, perhaps, a similar direction. I look forward to learning a lot in this forum.
