She was relaxing on a chaise lounge by the window in my living room. The Afternoon sunlight was streaming in and lit her nicely I thought. Shot with my Rebel XS, manual mode, metered on the bright, non-white parts of her face. White balance was set to shade.

In post, I worked to bring the colors out better, enhanced the contrast a tad, and dodged her eyes a bit as there were just a hair dark.

C&C per req: Nice work! I would suggest a minor curves adjustment to lighten the area under the chin. As well, you have some nearly blown highlights in the nose and paw, but given the difficulty of the exposure here, that's minor. I would like to see a slightly wider crop as you've almost cropped the left ear.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Definitely can't beat the lighting on this one.

As recommended, here's a wider crop, with some work done to lighten her up under the chin:

Now if I could adjust the aperture in GIMP to get more dof and make that nose tack sharp like the eyes, I'd be golden ;-)
