Release ?'s

I got invited to photograph a charity event through my Univeristy at a skating rink, Should I try to get any kinf of Release signed or take it as PhotoJournalism and nto worry about it?

It depends what you plan to do with the images. If you plan to use them commercially (in an ad campaign etc.), then you will most likely need a release from anyone recognizable in the image.

If you plan to use them in a 'fair use' capacity, journalism etc., then you probably don't need a release.

Is the skating rink public or private property? Who owns it?

I'm not sure of the answers...but these are some of the questions that you should ask.

Its a public rink, and a public charity event. All that I would be usiing it for is under the events section of my website.
