I broke down and splurged on a ring flash for my 10D. These are usually used for macro shooting...but more and more fashion and cosmetic photogs are using them for a trendy effect. Just watch and britney spears video or high fashion shoot and notice the catchlights in the models eye and you'll see the ring flash in the reflection. so my question is how in the hell do they avoid red eye? Do they just correct it in post? I can't seem to shoot a pic with the ring flash without the dreaded red eye. Would it help if I used some high powered lights to condition the pupil first? help.
