Well, I like it Walter.

Looks like some rough terrain to be hiking through... reminds me of home. Actually the first thing i thought of when i saw it was #3 in this series i took from Watson Lake in Prescott --> [thread=35660]More Stepping Stones...[/thread], although it's not quite as similar as I originally thought it was...

Cool; thanks! I'm pretty happy with the way the shot came out.

The landscapes (Watson Lake - Hidden Valley) appear to have similar origins- intruded granite, exposed by erosion. Doesn't look like as much faulting as in the Joshua Tree NP though.

Here's a description of how the formations may have been built:

I need to change 'dikes' to intrusions. I heard a couple weeks ago that is the 'new' proper name.

Thanks. I had to haulas down there from the hotel to catch the last few minutes.

I think those are the mountains where Flagstaff is located.

Thanks LP. Sometimes I wish I were closer to the ocean- Like today. Yesterday too. Probably tomorrow also. Maybe the next day, but then I'll get over it.
