I liked the way this old arch was been incorporated into the more modern buidling...a small piece of ancient history left standing.

thanks very much....the Roman ruins have a high degree of importance in Italy, sometimes I think it's the only thing that unites the country.

Not been to Italy often enough, but it always amazes me how much of the country is resting on foundations laid down 2,000 or more years ago. It's not always quite as profoundly obvious as the one above though.
