Oddly enough what bothers me about this is that I cannot make out where the wounds are. Also, there seems to be a dearth of blood. I can bleed that much practically without noticing I've cut myself.

Good solid concept, well executed, though. The quibbles above lend it, to me, a slightly cartoony feel, maybe surrealist, which might be exactly what you were going for.
