This was the first air show that I have been to with my camera. I didn't know I was going beforehand, because it was a surprise trip from my girlfriend. Nonetheless I am pleased with my results. I didn't get all the shots I wanted to get.

I couldn't get over how dramatic the clouds were today. Here are some of my favorites.

Some really cool shots there, I love air show photography :)

I'm assuming for the plane in the sky shots you used the telephoto, how much 'zoom' is required?

    Thanks guys!

The sky that day was really contrasty... and the sun was pretty much in front of you the whole time, so it wasn't the ideal situation.

I had my el' cheapo 70-300G there....(I want a high end telephoto lens really bad) So, the close ups were at 300. But #3 was at 70.

    Thought I'd add some more.

I've been going through them and finding more that I like.

Wow, you did a great job! And what a cool airshow that was! Did you see the people outside holding the "WAR PLANES BRING DEATH AND MISERY" signs?

And by any chance did you see these guys walking around?

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments!

Phazan, I see you were there too! No, I didn't see the protesters there, or the two guys in your photo :)... Its funny you say that because I was just reading about fleet week in San Francisco and about how they might bring an end to it because of all the anti-war protesters in the city are trying to get rid of it!

There were tons of photographers there! And I mean lot's with tons of equipment! I was so jealous! I took a pic of this guys setup, I couldn't stop looking at it!
