Trying to improve on the technique of capturing speed/movement...

Using such a slow shutter speed (1/100) handheld is a challenge and therefore never got the face sharp enough.

    Will keep on trying!

    All crits and comments welcome

nice panning! the head does seem bit blurry/out of focus. if i can make a suggestion, maybe dodging the shadow on its left wing may bring out more detail there as it seems like you were focused on its body.

Really cool effect! Try 1/125 or even 1/160 as well, will help to keep the body in focus but still enough to give b/g blur.

Agreed, just ask the bird to come fly back again so that you can try 1/125 or 1/160. Nice suggestion though.
