This is a lovely image in many respects, and a good looking dog. If I was going to suggest some changes, I think the exposure is a bit off-- it could really stand to be a bit brighter. You've done well to get down on the dog's level, to many pet photos are from above and this is a lot stronger because of the angles. Eye contact is something you might want to try for, even with an animal having them looking into the camera will do wonders in creating a connection with the subject. Dogs in particular have great looks when they are peering down a lens. (this is my favorite animal picture I've taken: here that I think illustrates what I'm talking about)
