Hey gang,

Our Cub Scout pack had a "Roars and Snores" sleep-over at the San Antonio zoo. We all had a blast, but the follow-up day at the zoo went very well for me and my rented Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM lens. All of the photos and macros can be view over at my San Antonio Zoo Fall 2008 Sleep-Over, Cub Scout Pack 562, Round Rock, TX flickr set, but here are a few of my favorite shots of the day:

these are all just really really sharp and perfect quality. the color is great too. i dont see even one little thing wrong. be very proud! :) ;)

I'll bet you were tempted not to give back that rental! Very nice work!

3, 4, and 5 are amazing. The barn owl is a remarkable looking bird. The 5th bird, whatever it is, is prehistoric looking. All great shots.

I believe #5 is a Cassawary and #7 is an African Crowned Crane

gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!
#5 is outstanding!! As are many of the others, very well done!!!

Wow, these are beautiful. Awesome DOF and clearity on these. Very well done.

8 is a Victoria Crowned Pigeon

Brilliant photography!
Greatest clarity, detail, perfect light, totally blurred background so we ONLY and exclusively see the birds ... wonderful!

Wow, thanks for all the positive comments and the ID's I will update my flickr image descriptions...I usually do much better with bug ID's. Boy, I've fallen hard for that 300mm prime...I want one really bad!
