    Hey gang,

Our Cub Scout pack had a "Roars and Snores" sleep-over at the San Antonio zoo. We all had a blast, but the follow-up day at the zoo went very well for me and my rented Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM lens. All of the photos and macros can be view over at my San Antonio Zoo Fall 2008 Sleep-Over, Cub Scout Pack 562, Round Rock, TX flickr set, but here are a few of my favorite shots of the day:

    #1 Great Egret right?

3, 4, and 5 are amazing. The barn owl is a remarkable looking bird. The 5th bird, whatever it is, is prehistoric looking. All great shots.

8 is a Victoria Crowned Pigeon

    Brilliant photography!
Greatest clarity, detail, perfect light, totally blurred background so we ONLY and exclusively see the birds ... wonderful!

What LaPhoto said - a series of fantastic headshots of birds. Exposures spot on, great colours and fantastic details.
must say I really like the details in the crest of number 5
