I have a chance to get one of these (used obviously) for $40. I'm well aware that i won't have ttl metering, but for $40 i'm fine with using it full manual.... is there anything else that would be a reason not to get this?

If somebody beats you to it. Make sure the battery compartment is clean though.

BTW, using it on auto will give you pretty good results too.

That sucks. I hate it when that happens.

    You snooze, you loose... lol

Happens all the time. Thanks to the Strobist club, they've single-handedly raised local prices of 20 year old flashes from $20 to over $200. When you find the deals, you have to move fast. ;)

heh, well I sent the guy an e-mail last night, telling him I wanted it... I checked my e-mail this morning, and there was no response. Anyways, around noon I get back from my class, and see that he replied 5 mins after I had left for class. I messaged him back asking where and when to meet him, and he told me he sold it. Jerk. lol
