Scan Disk Ultra II vs. Extreme III

Hey Gang,

Any real world pros/cons of the above cards....CF format....

I have 2 ExtremeIII 2gb cards....very nice

But need a couple 4gb...wondering if the UltraII are as solid as the ExtremeIII in actual use...

Any words of wisdom?

Both series are fairly durable, its the write speed that is more of a issue. I have the Ultra II 2gb and it is fairly slow when shooting in burst-mode compared to my PNY 266X. It's only a 66x I believe and my back-up card. Had issue with the Ultra II initially with a few corrupted images, but after a few formats it works fine.

they are solid cards. but they're slower.

Not only are you going to a bigger card (always slower), but you're going to a slower series.
It won't kill you, but just know ahead of time.
