If you only got the warning from an e-mail from a friend, it's probably a hoax. Those e-mails become a "virus" in and of themselves, as they tend to spread like wildfire.

The jerks that start this sort of thing prey off the good nature of good people, and it pissses me off. You naturaly want to warn your friends and family about these things.

If you want to check to see if a virus is real, there are hoax pages that can be helpful:
    http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html
    http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/
    http://vil.mcafee.com/hoax.asp

And Snopes is wonderful for checking out all those strange stories you hear about. Some are even true!

    THANK YOU MARK! :cheer:

I usually Goggle that kind of stuff before I send it on unless I get it from some of my network admin friends. I have a few friends that seem to just not get a clue that I HATE mass forward emails particularly about viruses that they did no research into. *sigh* It's not like I didn't tell them.

Anyway, thank you mark for standing up for our inboxes. :)

Darfion, your alert was thoughtful. I'm glad to know that people care enough to warn us. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
