It's raining, it's windy, it's a gloomy day and I'm thinking of taking some shots at the cemetery today when we go to visit the grave of my wife's mother with her family.

The family likes the idea, but I'm a little aprehensive...I just want to capture the emotion, the moody.

Any tips appreciated.

guess I was a bit vague.

I'm keeping it simple and only packing the 50 f1.8. I don't want to be intrusive, no flash. I guess if you have done something like this before you might have some advice regarding what to or not to do. :D

If you don't want to be intrusive you shouldn't be using an in your face short lens like a 50mm. You should think about using the longest lens you have and just staying well back and shooting. Short lens you are part of it all, long lens you aren't, and if people don't know that you're shooting they will feel less bothered about attending an emotional ceremony.

ahhh, good info. I could swap out for the 70-200vr.

edit: raining too much and ground is too soft, the memorial was canceled.
